The Jewish community in Montenegro represents an important and inseparable part of society and, through its activities, makes a significant contribution to cultural diversity, as well as to strengthening the spirit of tolerance, appreciation and mutual respect, said the President of the Assembly, Andrija Mandić.
Mandić congratulated the President of the Jewish Community of Montenegro, Nina Ofner Bokan, Chief Rabbi Lucijan Moše Prelević, as well as all members of the Jewish community, on the beginning of Hanukkah - the holiday of light, hope and spiritual strength.
"Hanukkah strongly reminds us of the timeless values of faith, perseverance and togetherness, which throughout history have been a source of strength in the most difficult times," Mandić stated on the X network.
He pointed out that the symbolism of the lit hanukkah speaks of the victory of light over darkness, good over challenges, and hope over doubt.
"May the light of Hanukkah illuminate homes, families and hearts, bringing peace, joy, spiritual fulfillment and prosperity," said Mandić.
In his congratulatory message, he wished that the holidays would be an opportunity for gathering, gratitude, and strengthening mutual bonds.
"The Jewish community in Montenegro represents an important and inseparable part of our society and, through its activities, makes a significant contribution to its cultural diversity, as well as to strengthening the spirit of tolerance, appreciation and mutual respect - the fundamental values on which we build a common and better future," said Mandić.
He wished the members of the Jewish community good health, personal and family happiness, as well as success in every good endeavor, and that they spend the Hanukkah holiday in joy and peace.
