"The data on alarming air pollution in Pljevlja once again reminds us that the issue of protecting the health of citizens is a priority that cannot be postponed," said the President of the SNP and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Vladimir Joković.
"The citizens of this city have been living with the consequences of poor air quality for years, which is unacceptable in a modern and responsible state. The state has an obligation to urgently implement all short-term and long-term measures envisaged in the protection plans, but also to clearly establish the responsibility of all those whose actions contribute to this situation. We must pay special attention to the protection of children, the elderly and the chronically ill, who are the most vulnerable," said Joković.
He added that Pljevlja "must not be a city where pollution is taken for granted."
"Systemic solutions, decisive control and continuous investments are needed to ensure a healthy and dignified life for all citizens of Pljevlja," said Joković.
