"The use of drones in the field will enable the inspection of larger areas in a shorter period of time and will reduce the need for multiple visits, which will positively affect the safety of inspectors, who will no longer be exposed to risks when entering inaccessible or potentially dangerous zones," the Directorate said.

The Water Administration has acquired five modern drones to improve the work of inspectors in the field and ensure more efficient supervision of Montenegro's watercourses.

The Water Administration announced that the purchase of five drones has enabled inspectors to assess the situation in locations that are often difficult to access more quickly, precisely, and safely.

"The use of drones in the field will enable the inspection of larger areas in a shorter period of time and will reduce the need for multiple visits, which will positively affect the safety of inspectors, who will no longer be exposed to risks when entering inaccessible or potentially dangerous zones," the Directorate said.

They said that thanks to high-resolution footage, inspectors will have more precise and reliable documentation that will make it easier to identify irregularities and contribute to better implementation of further procedures aimed at protecting Montenegrin watercourses.

The Director of the Water Administration, Vesna Bajović, emphasized that modern technological solutions strengthen the ability of the Water Administration to react in a timely manner, provide better control and protection, preserving the water resources of Montenegro for future generations.

The Water Administration stated that the drones were purchased in accordance with the procurement plan and the Program for the Use of Funds for Water Management Activities for this year, through a simple public procurement procedure.

"After obtaining the necessary permits from the Civil Aviation Agency for the use of drones, they will be assigned to inspectors for use, which will begin their operational application," the statement said.
