The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Boka Navy Kotor signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the aim of preserving and promoting the rich maritime heritage, tradition and culture, as well as strengthening the overall maritime sector in Montenegro.
This is the first time that the Boka Navy has been recognized in this institutional way as a relevant partner in the development of the country's maritime sector.
The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović and the President of the Boka Navy Denis Vukašinović.
"The cooperation includes joint activities in the field of maritime heritage protection, improvement of maritime education and training, development of the maritime economy, contribution to the development of maritime legislation, as well as promotion of maritime culture and ethics," the Ministry of Maritime Affairs announced.
Special emphasis was placed on the valorization of the UNESCO-protected intangible cultural heritage of the Boka Bay Navy.
"The Boka Bay Navy represents one of the strongest symbols of Montenegro's maritime identity. Its institutional inclusion in the development of the country's maritime policy confirms our commitment to preserving tradition and connecting it to contemporary challenges and needs of the maritime sector," said Radulović.
