The Municipality of Bijelo Polje, in cooperation with the Municipal Organization of the Red Cross Bijelo Polje, provided a valuable donation in the form of food supplies for two soup kitchens operating in the territory of that municipality and which provide significant support to socially vulnerable citizens.
The donation is intended for the "Mileva Vojvodić" soup kitchen, which operates under the patronage of the Church Municipality of Bijelo Polje, as well as the "Meal for All" soup kitchen, which operates under the Islamic Community - Džemat Potkrajci.
These kitchens, as announced by the Red Cross Bijelo Polje, play an important role in the local community, as they provide meals every day for a large number of beneficiaries in a state of social need.
The donation contracts were signed by the secretary of the Municipal Red Cross Organization of Bijelo Polje, Mašan Živković, with priest Darko Pejić and Aldin Pilavec, the founder of the kitchen.
On this occasion, Živković emphasized that the Municipality of Bijelo Polje and the Red Cross continuously provide support to programs that contribute to improving the social security of citizens and strengthening solidarity in the community.
Živković added that the good cooperation between the Municipality of Bijelo Polje and the Municipal Red Cross is based on a common understanding of the needs of the local community and on the willingness to react in a timely and responsible manner.
"The Municipality of Bijelo Polje is a reliable partner in humanitarian activities and programs aimed at helping the most vulnerable citizens. With this donation, we want to further strengthen the work of soup kitchens that provide direct assistance to those who need it most on a daily basis. Caring for citizens in need must be continuous and systematic, which is why we will continue to support soup kitchens that play a significant role in the local community in the coming period," concluded Živković.
Representatives of the "Mileva Vojvodić" Soup Kitchen and the "Meal for All" Soup Kitchen thanked the Municipality of Bijelo Polje and the Red Cross for the donation, emphasizing that this support will significantly facilitate their daily work and enable continuity in providing assistance to beneficiaries.
