There will be no construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Botun, and whether Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović will resign, whether he will face a vote of no confidence, what kind of budget he will have and what problems he will solve - that is his obligation and his "torment", said the President of the Municipality of Zeta Mihailo Asanović.
"You won't be able to force Zeta, and whatever comes, we are next," Asanović wrote in response to Mujović's guest appearance on Television Vijesti this morning.
"The first man of the capital has moved into a new phase of the campaign, so instead of doing what he talked about during the campaign, he has focused his actions exclusively on confrontations with Zeta and its citizens, so this morning we witnessed hearing that the Police Directorate and the Municipal Police should start doing 'their job' and that they will try to shamelessly, with the help of institutions, to implement their plan and begin the construction of this facility on someone else's territory. We just don't know how you could have thought that the municipal police of one municipality could react on the territory of another and you are consciously calling for the violation of the law," said Asanović.
"In this new moment, in which the outgoing mayor of Podgorica has expressed extremely dangerous and ill-intentioned views, I think there are elements for the institutions and the competent Prosecutor's Office to call Mujović for an interview to explain whether this morning he started the phase of calling for an escalation of the conflict in Botun and whether he is inviting possible unpleasant scenes," claims the mayor of Zeta Municipality.
"If he thought we were afraid of him and some kind of force he threatens, we are once again telling him that we fought against a much more dangerous criminal regime, that we were beaten, arrested, our families tortured, and that we can only laugh at such outbursts by Mujović. While we were suffering and were on the streets, you were the dean of the university and a member of the Senate, which speaks volumes about how much you suffered under the former system," Asanović added.
He claims that Mujović is the only one "faking negotiations".
"As the president of the Municipality of Zeta, as a local government, as leaders in demonstrating democratic capacities after the referendum on Sunday evening, together with our citizens, we are ready to respond forcefully and are ready to welcome any action that Mujović calls for, which could bring unforeseeable consequences for the entire country. The only one who is pretending to negotiate is Mr. Mujović, because if he wanted to compromise and listen to the other side, he had to know that the residents of Botun have been talking about these and similar things for 21 years that burden our relations, but above all, endanger the lives of the residents of Botun and the entire Zeta."
All of this would be fine, as he said, if Mujović were talking about building a plant on the territory of Podgorica.
"But neither Mujović nor anyone else will decide on any project that even a millimeter enters the territory of Zeta. We again urge you to publish the second part of the contract, not to publish irrelevant things, and to finally let all of Montenegro see the project, because you are hiding it like a snake's legs."
He reiterated that there is no construction of a collector in Botun.
"Whether you will resign, whether you will be voted out of office, what kind of budget you will have and what problems you will solve, that is your obligation and your pain, you will not be able to force Zeta, and whatever comes, we are next to it. And as for your political steps, i.e. the political activities of PES, we know them and we know who you have prepared to replace us in the capital's Assembly, good luck with your coalition with Duško Marković and DPS, we have no problem being in the opposition, because we have been in those seats for a long time, unlike you, where the whole of Montenegro sees that you are uncomfortable going into the opposition," the reaction reads.
