Every story about languages, chapels and changes to the Constitution that are being aggressively pushed by some in power these days is an attempt to divert attention from the serious ecological, health and economic incident that is taking place in Pljevlja, said the president of the SDP Main Board and representative of the European Union, Mirko Stanić.
"While historic highs in pollution are being broken, dozens of people are in the hospital, and citizens are locking themselves in their homes like during the corona pandemic - the local NSD mayor and his party colleagues who run EPCG and the rest of the energy sector "remembered" to raise identity issues. It must be a series of serious omissions during the work itself, and whether there is corruption in it will be known very soon when the SDT seizes the complete documentation related to this work that cost citizens a full 75 million euros, which is, for example, the amount allocated for all of Montenegrin culture in two years," Stanić said in a press release.
And while the air in Pljevlja is literally life-threatening, citizens are spontaneously starting protests, and there is no end in sight to the problems - the response of alleged Serbian politicians is to raise the issue of changing the Constitution, says a representative of the European Union.
"Those Vučić farces have been read a long time ago and there are no naive people in Pljevlja or Montenegro. The citizens of that city are not asking for the Constitution to be changed these days, but for slag trucks not to be transported without a permit, nor for a pollution measuring station to be "accidentally" turned off. They are not interested, like Vraneša, in the Karađorđević Chapel on Lovćen, because they cannot see the tops of buildings, let alone the peaks of some mountains, because of the smog and smoke.
Now it is finally clear even to the naive - party "employees" who are not capable of running a newsstand, not a large system, are becoming a danger to the health and lives of citizens. Aside from the fact that their ignorance will cost us tens of millions of euros, which we will pay instead of building kindergartens, schools and hospitals. Because we will not see anything from those millions, and the amount they will spend under Velje Brdo will not enrich us. Therefore, it is high time to put a stop to this, before, like so many times before, it is tragic and too late," concludes Stanić,
