Podgorica should remain a place of harmony, coexistence and dialogue, a city in which trust is built with every action and every decision made, said the President of the Capital City Assembly, Jelena Borovinić Bojović.
"On the occasion of December 19, the Liberation Day of Podgorica, I extend my sincere congratulations to my fellow citizens, along with gratitude to all those who, through their attitude towards the city, towards others and towards the community, contribute every day to making Podgorica a better and more worthy place to live. Podgorica Day is an opportunity to remind ourselves of the values that bind us together - togetherness, solidarity and respect, but also of the obligation to build a city in which people are listened to and respected, and in which differences are experienced as wealth, not as division," the statement reads.
She said she believes that "the strength of the Capital City lies in its responsibility towards people, institutions and the public word."
"Our Podgorica is more than the space we live in – it is a sense of belonging, mutual trust and togetherness that is built quietly but permanently. With this awareness, I believe in a Podgorica that looks forward, with responsibility towards current and future generations. Happy Liberation Day of Podgorica!"
