The Third Basic Court in Belgrade has partially accepted the claim of journalist Vukašin Obradović against the Serbian Progressive Party, which is obliged to pay him 100.000 dinars (about 850 euros) within 15 days with default interest, starting from November 25, for the mental pain suffered due to the violation of his honor and reputation, announced lawyer Ivan Ninić.

Obradović sued the SNS because the party issued a press release on February 13, 2020, in which they grossly insulted his honor and reputation, calling him a "proven racketeer."

Since 2022, Obradović has been the assistant editor-in-chief of the independent daily "Vijesti".

In his ruling, as reported by FoNet, Judge Boris Marjanović rejected Obradović's claim to be paid the 400.000 dinars he had requested in the lawsuit, as well as to have the SNS publish the ruling at its own expense in the printed edition of the newspaper "Politika" without any comment, in the next issue.

The court also rejected Obradović's request that the SNS pay him statutory interest on the amount of the awarded costs of the civil proceedings, but obliged the Serbian Progressive Party to pay him 181.800 dinars with default interest for the costs of the civil proceedings.
