Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović, after tonight's meeting with representatives of the residents of Botuni, who oppose the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in that Zeta settlement, called on all parties to engage in dialogue.
He invited the Government, the Capital, the Municipality of Zeta, representatives of the residents of Botun, the European Union Delegation, and representatives of international partners key to the implementation of the project, to meet on December 24 at 15 p.m., in the President's building, in order to reach an acceptable solution.
He emphasized that preserving peace and the safety of citizens are an absolute priority.
"Local representatives expressed concern that, even after the clear will of the citizens of Zeta was expressed in the referendum, there is still an insistence on the implementation of the project at the same location, while recalling earlier public promises made by all representatives of the current government. At the same time, Podgorica needs a modern solution for wastewater treatment," Milatović wrote on Iks.
He emphasizes that it is his obligation and responsibility as the President of Montenegro to listen to all parties and contribute to finding a solution, which, as he said, can only be achieved through dialogue.
