Rescued a deer trapped in the ice on Lake Zminičko

Members of the Žabljak Protection and Rescue Service rescued a deer that was trapped in the ice on the surface of Lake Zminic.

The commander of that service, Drago Popović, told Television Vijesti that the case was reported to them around noon today.

"We went out into the field with the gamekeeper and the secretary of the hunting society and, with the help of locals, managed to get through with a boat and safely evacuate the doe. The doe is safe, on the Bojović farm. We are waiting for it to be examined by a veterinarian, after which, if everything goes well, it will be released into its natural habitat," said Popović.

He recalls that they had a similar rescue operation last year at Lake Zminičko.
