MZ Stari Grad: There is a risk of the road in Budva collapsing, we have not received a response from the Communal Inspection

The Local Community (MZ) Stari grad - Budva issued a public proclamation due to, as they warned, an extremely alarming and dangerous situation in the territory of Budva, at the ramp to the entrance to the Old Town.

"There is a real and immediate threat of the road collapsing. At the aforementioned location, deep and long longitudinal cracks in the roadway are clearly visible, which are becoming more pronounced day by day. Such damage indicates serious instability of the surface, which poses a direct threat to the safety of pedestrians, residents of the Old Town, tourists, as well as vehicles that pass this section every day," the Stari Grad Local Community said in a statement.

As they add, the fact that this is one of the main entrances to the Old Town, an area of ​​exceptional importance for the city of Budva, both from a security perspective and from a tourism and public interest perspective, is particularly concerning.

"We emphasize that the Stari Grad Local Community has officially addressed the Municipal Inspection of the City of Budva several times, however, to this day we have not received any response, nor have we been provided with a record that the competent service has gone to the field. We consider this attitude of the competent authorities unacceptable, irresponsible and dangerous," the Local Community stated.

They are asking a public question.

"Are the competent services of the city of Budva waiting for the road to collapse or, even worse, for citizens or guests to be injured, in order to react? Attached to this letter are photographs from the scene, which unequivocally confirm the seriousness of the situation and deny any possibility of minimizing the problem. The Stari Grad Local Community hereby publicly warns that if urgent measures are not taken, responsibility for any consequences will lie solely with the competent authorities of the City of Budva, who were informed of the problem in a timely manner, but decided not to react. We call on the competent services to go to the field without further delay, conduct an expert examination and take urgent remedial measures, before an accident with unforeseeable consequences occurs," the proclamation concludes.
