Contracts were signed with the winners of projects within the Competition for Co-financing Cooperation with the Scientific Diaspora at the premises of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI), the government department announced today.

As stated in the statement, based on the evaluation process carried out, within the available funds, 10 projects were selected that the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation will support with a total of 1.089.958,73 euros, while the amount of co-financing by institutions amounts to 121.266,06 euros.

"This program further strengthens ties between the scientific community in Montenegro and researchers from the Montenegrin diaspora. The goal of the program is to encourage the transfer of knowledge, experience and modern research practices, as well as the development of long-term international scientific partnerships," the statement states.

As stated by the Ministry of Science and Technology, cooperation with the scientific diaspora represents a strong support for the future development of Montenegrin science, enriches the domestic research environment and contributes to strengthening the international visibility of Montenegrin researchers.

"The ceremonial signing of the contract, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, was attended by Prof. Dr. Anđela Jakšić - Stojanović, Minister, and Marica Melović, Director General of the Directorate for Scientific and Research Activities," it is stated.

Minister Jakšić-Stojanović emphasized that she was pleased that the Ministry of Science, Research and Innovation (MSRI) had for the first time issued a call for proposals related to cooperation programs with the scientific diaspora, and added that the quality and number of project applications received confirmed the strong potential of the Montenegrin scientific community and diaspora, as well as the great interest in cooperation and joint work.

"Director Melović congratulated the project winners on their achieved results and thanked all researchers and licensed scientific research institutions that expressed interest and submitted applications within this competition," the MoESI statement concluded.
