The Director of the Public Company for National Parks of Montenegro, Marinela Đuretić, and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Mijat Jocović, signed today a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of development and improvement of human resources in the field of economics through the implementation of joint projects, conferences, workshops, campaigns and engagements for university students, and the best students of the Faculty of Economics will also be awarded annual tickets for national parks, the National Parks of Montenegro announced.
"This cooperation will enable us in the coming period to jointly organize expert discussions, panels, forums, round tables and other gatherings, as well as guest appearances, lectures, workshops, campaigns and professional internships for students of the Faculty of Economics in national parks," said Jocović.
Đuretić emphasized that students, as future academic citizens, have a significant role in creating public opinion about the importance of preserving protected areas and national parks, but also policies that should be more focused on ecology and sustainable development in the future.
"Engaging students from the Faculty of Economics in seasonal jobs in national parks would greatly benefit us as managers, but also these young people, by introducing them to the values of areas that enjoy protection both at the national and international levels," she said.
In the coming period, cooperation between the JPNPCG and the Faculty of Economics will be realized through the publication of brochures, manuals, magazines and other publications, the design and development of studies, analyses, projects, and a special segment will be focused on promotional activities and informing the public about the joint activities of the signatories of the Memorandum, the statement states.
