Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Development Damjan Ćulafić said that the Mayor of Pljevlja Municipality Dario Vraneš and the Director of "Grijanje" Vlado Tošić owe the citizens "some answers".
"The irresponsibility of the two people who are directly responsible for the situation surrounding the boiler house in Pljevlja is incredible. I think that Tošić and Vraneš owe some answers to the people of Pljevlja. It is too transparent that they, as the only ones responsible, are hiding behind protests and statements that no one is allowed to sign by name or surname. It is cowardly," said Ćulafić.
He said that the Mayor, "while the Minister is thinking about the health and general well-being of the people of Pljevlja," is dealing with local politics and "fruitless populism."
"I would appreciate it if both of them publicly admitted that they did not complete what they were supposed to do. It seems that I am expecting too much. I think you owe the public some answers. Both Vraneš and Tošić owe the people of Pljevlja an answer to the question: why did they not act on the inspection order from a year ago and install two ordinary filters? I think we have not yet received an answer from Vraneš to the question: where did the money for environmental projects that was paid to him disappear? How much of that money could he have used to buy pellet stoves for citizens? How much pellets? How many facades on residential buildings? How much help to provide to individuals who use coal for heating? There are no answers. Answer these questions first, and then decide on the fate of the boiler house," the statement reads.
