Biljana Rovčanin, a physics teacher at the Podgorica Primary School (OS) "Vuk Karadžić", is the winner of this year's Oktoih award, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI) announced.
It is stated that this decision was made by the Jury for the award of the State Award "Oktoih", after detailed consideration and evaluation of the submitted proposals, in accordance with the Regulation on the detailed manner, procedure and evaluation of the criteria for the award of this award.
The decision, as stated by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, was made based on the number of points in accordance with the Rules.
The jury for the State Award "Oktoih" consisted of president Miljan Bigović and members Veselin Mićanović, Biljana Maslovarić, Sanja Ognjanović and Sabaheta Ramović.
"The call for proposals for the winners of the State Award "Oktoih" in 2025 received 12 proposals, nine for the award to a teacher, two for the award to academic staff, and one for the award to a licensed preschool institution," the statement said.
The "Oktoih" award is awarded to a citizen of Montenegro or a legal entity headquartered in the territory of Montenegro, for outstanding results achieved in the field of upbringing and education, as well as pupil and student standards.
The "Oktoih" state award, which consists of a plaque, diploma and cash prize, will be presented to the winners by the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Anđela Jakšić Stojanović.
