On the occasion of the Municipality Day, I extend my sincere congratulations to the citizens of Bijelo Polje on my own behalf and on behalf of the Parliament of Montenegro, with the wish that you mark this significant date in the spirit of unity, solidarity and pride in your city, states the congratulatory message from Boris Pejović, Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro.

Bijelo Polje represents the true Montenegro in miniature and is an example of mutual respect, appreciation of diversity and harmonious coexistence - values ​​that form the foundation of every progressive society, he said.

"At the same time, we are aware of the challenges that Bijelo Polje faces. The long-standing neglect of the north of Montenegro has left consequences in the form of negative demographic trends and population emigration, with the number of citizens of Bijelo Polje continuously decreasing since 1991. That is why changing this trend must be a common priority. In this regard, it is particularly encouraging that the Budget of Montenegro for 2026 has allocated 4,2 million euros for the improvement of road infrastructure in Bijelo Polje, which represents an important step towards better connectivity of your municipality with the rest of the country and the region. Such investments create the basis for stronger development of entrepreneurship, agriculture and tourism, but also for a better quality of life for all citizens," the congratulatory message adds.

The valorization of Bijelo Polje's natural, economic and human resources must remain the focus of both state and local policies, Pejović emphasized.

"In this process, the Parliament of Montenegro will be your reliable partner, dedicated to the balanced development of all parts of our country. Once again, I congratulate you on the Day of the Municipality, with the conviction that in the years to come, through joint work and responsible policies, we will continue to improve living conditions and build a prosperous future for Bijelo Polje and the whole of Montenegro," said the Vice President of the Parliament.
