Despite the improvement in weather conditions, traffic on roads in Montenegro is still slow and difficult, with shorter or longer interruptions, due to snow, landslides and overflowing rivers, the Police Directorate announced.
The police warned that all of this, along with the presence of fog on some sections of the road, increases the risk of traffic accidents, which is why they advised against taking to the road unless absolutely necessary, and to exercise increased caution.
"We also remind drivers of the mandatory use of winter tires on vehicles participating in traffic on roads with snow, ice or slush, or covered by the Order on the time period and road, or sections of the road on which the use of winter tires is mandatory for all motor vehicles, and whose implementation began on November 15," the statement said.
The police appealed to drivers to contribute to their own safety and the safety of other road users by driving patiently and adapting to road conditions.
