Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović will have to punish his associates in city services who participated in the construction of the sports field in Donja Gorica, which he opened in mid-September last year.
Mujović announced yesterday that all those who prevented the canal that should lead the Mareza branch to the Morača from performing its function would be sanctioned.
The part of the training ground in Donja Gorica that is being demolished today was opened by Mujović in mid-September.

"Today I had a meeting with the Director of the Inspection Administration, Mr. Branko Kovačević. We agreed to take uncompromising action, to punish all those who built illegal structures and who in any way endangered this Mares Canal," Mujović said yesterday in Donja Gorica, where a temporary pontoon bridge was installed.
The Secretariats for Sports, Municipal Affairs and Transport were involved in the construction of the sports field in Donja Gorica.
The works were carried out by city companies - Roads, Housing Agency and Utilities.
As announced at the opening, a combined polygon measuring 30×15 meters has been built in Donja Gorica, intended for basketball and football, and it is planned to build a children's playground in the second phase.
"This is an indicator that every part of Podgorica is important to us. In every part of the city, we want to create something, to work, to be in direct contact and to listen to the voice of the local community," Mujović said at the time.
He added that the Capital City allocated a total of 96.000 euros for this project and the construction of the training ground in Kokoti.
Mujović then thanked the Plantaže company, on whose property the training grounds were built, emphasizing that this is an example of the social responsibility of a company and good synergy between the Capital City, business entities and the local community.
Mujović said yesterday that there would be no selective treatment.
"All those who have occupied the territory of the canal and prevented the canal from performing its function will be sanctioned. They will be ordered to remove all those illegal structures and we must bring the canal into operation," Mujović said yesterday.

During a tour of the flooded areas, Mujović said that Podgorica has been facing similar problems for years, and that they are the result of years of uncontrolled and unplanned construction, which directly threatens the lives and property of residents.
"How else can we interpret the situation in Mareza and Donja Gorica, where the drainage river channels are concreted? Where can that water go except into the yards and houses of citizens," asked Mujović.
