Traffic is slow on some roads in Montenegro this morning due to snow, the Automobile and Motorcycle Association (AMSCG) announced, warning drivers of icy roads and an increased risk of landslides.
"Extremely cautious driving is necessary, adapted to the conditions and state of the road, as well as compliance with traffic rules," the AMSCG stated.
The AMSCG reminded that, from November 15 to April 1, the use of winter tires is mandatory for all vehicles on roads where this is indicated by signage, regardless of whether winter conditions exist.
When winter conditions (snow, ice or slush) exist on other parts and sections of the road not covered by the Order, the vehicle must be equipped with winter tires on all wheels. The minimum tread depth of the tires is four millimeters.
Due to snowfall and conditions on the Plužine-Šćepan Polje main road, traffic for all vehicle categories has been suspended.
A landslide occurred on the regional road R-10 Đurđevića Tara-Mojkovac, at the Sokolovina location, causing traffic to be suspended.
Due to works on the regional road R-30 Petnjica - Bioča, section Bioča - Lješnica, traffic will be suspended from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Due to the reconstruction of the regional road R-29 Bar - Kamenički most - Krute, traffic is suspended for all types of vehicles from 8 am to 11 am and from 1 pm to 4 pm.
On the regional road R-17, section Čevo - Ridjani, traffic is suspended from 8 am to 2 pm due to road adaptation.
On the M-3 highway, section Plužine - Jasenovo Polje, locality Zaborje - Jasenovo Polje, traffic is alternately in one lane at the work sites, and traffic is regulated by traffic lights.
Due to the reconstruction of the access roads to the Đurđevića Tara bridge, the traffic regime has been changed from two-way to alternating on the Žavljak - Pljevlja road.
Due to regular maintenance on the "Princesa Ksenija" highway, one traffic lane is closed in places along the highway route in the Veruša - Mateševo direction.
Due to the construction of a boulevard, traffic on Vojislavljevića Street in Podgorica has been suspended and is being diverted via alternative routes in accordance with the traffic signs.
