The Grbalj Singing Society is organizing its annual concert this year, traditionally on January 14th, which will have special significance this time because it marks 25 years of the society's existence and work, the Society announced.
As they point out, the concert will be held in the hall of the "Nikola Đurković" Cultural Center in Kotor, starting at 18 p.m.
"The January concert of the Grbalj Singing Society has been a recognizable cultural event for years, which the audience awaits with special attention, and this year's edition will be dedicated to the anniversary, which testifies to the long-term and dedicated work on nurturing original music and cultural tradition," the organizers point out.
They add that the society was founded back in 2000, and during its 25 years of operation, it has performed at numerous concerts and events in the country and abroad, making a significant contribution to the cultural life of the community, and winning various awards.
"The audience will have the opportunity to hear a carefully selected repertoire that includes original songs performed in previous years, as well as new musical creations, whereby the concert will symbolically connect the past, present and future of the Grbalj Singing Society," it is stated.
The organizers add that, in addition to the songs of the Grbalj Singing Society, the concert guests will be the Folklore Ensemble Nikola Đurković Kotor, KUD Piva from Plužine, SKUD Vojkovići Istočno Sarajevo, Teatar 303, fiddlers Stevan Miljanić and Goran Vuković, folk singer Savo Šumar and young accordionist Danilo Pržica.
"The Grbalj Singing Society invites the audience to join them in celebrating this significant anniversary and continuing the beautiful tradition of gathering with songs and dances every January 14th," the organizers stated.
