Around 5,5 thousand guests stayed in Herceg Novi during the New Year and Christmas holidays, the local Tourist Organization announced.
According to TO, 3,6 thousand visitors chose hotel accommodation, which confirms the high occupancy rate during that period.
Natalija Terzić from the Tourist Organization said that the results achieved during the holiday period provide a good basis for the continuation of tourism activities in the coming period, reports the RTHN portal.
"We will continue at the same pace as before. The programs implemented during the New Year and Christmas holidays, as well as during January, proved to be a good overture to the spring period and the upcoming summer tourist season. More than ten thousand people welcomed the New Year in the city square, which is a great introduction to what is to come," said Terzić.
As she said, representing Herceg Novi at international fairs is a key opportunity for the city to showcase its offerings and attract tourists during the summer season.
"In the first half of the year, we expect performances in Madrid, Stuttgart, Ljubljana, Belgrade, Berlin and Prague, and this is an opportunity to present everything that Herceg Novi offers during the summer tourist season, from accommodation to attractions and other facilities. Every year we try to do it on time and at full capacity," said Terzić.
The caravans of the 57th Mimosa Festival are setting off this weekend, visiting Vrnjačka Banja on January 16, Zlatibor on January 17, and Nikšić on January 18. According to Terzić, next weekend they will travel to East Sarajevo and Banja Luka, where they will present all the content and attractions the festival offers.
