The Mayor of Podgorica, Saša Mujović, assessed that the takeover of the provision of the Soup Kitchen service by the city company "Markets and Markets" is a responsible and thoughtful move by the Capital City, which brings multiple benefits, the Capital City announced today.
As stated in the statement, at a meeting with the Secretary of the Secretariat for Social Welfare, Stefan Vešović, and the Director of the City Enterprise "Markets and Markets" Ivan Bojović, Mujović emphasized that this step enables the employment of surplus workers of this enterprise, better use of resources and more efficient control of service quality.
"Our obligation is for the Soup Kitchen to provide quality, nutritionally rich and regular meals to all beneficiaries, with full respect for their dignity," he said.
He pointed out that this move, in addition to its economic and social effects, also represents a significant control mechanism in emergency situations, as it enables quick and organized preparation of meals and support for citizens in possible moments of crisis.
"He added that the decision contributes to reducing dependence on external contractors and strengthening personnel and social stability. The Capital City and the competent institutions, as concluded, will continue to work together to improve the work of the Konik Soup Kitchen," the Capital City said in a statement.
