Employees of the Podgorica Shelter for Abandoned Animals caught an animal, which citizens claimed was a wolf, and which was spotted in the Blok 9 neighborhood.
This was told to "Vijesti" by Maša Jovanović, the manager of the Shelter.
As she explained, it is a young animal, probably a cross between a dog and a wolf. After being captured, the animal was placed in the Shelter for Abandoned Animals at Vreli Ribničke, in the Konik settlement.
Jovanović later informed the public on her Facebook account that the owner of the dog had contacted her, saying that it was a husky. After taking possession of the pet, he went to have it microchipped and registered. He also explained that his dog had run away last night "from the shooting".
Earlier in the day, several citizens reported that there was an animal behind the yard of one of the buildings on Nova Dalmatinska Street, which they assumed was a wolf.
As they stated in their address to "Vijesti", they informed the Protection and Rescue Service, as well as the Municipal Inspection of the Capital City of Podgorica, about this.
