Podgorica's "Putevi" will not take over passenger transport in the territory of the Zeta municipality, because they do not have the type of bus for intercity transport, nor is it provided for by the current regulations. This was considered, but was abandoned after consultations with the Ministry of Transport.

He told "Vijesti" yesterday. Rados Zecevic, executive director of “Putevi”.

"In addition to our best wishes to operate inter-village and inter-municipal lines in Zeta, after consulting experts from the Ministry of Transport, we have determined that we cannot provide that type of service to the Municipality of Zeta, at least not in the way they imagined," Zečević told the editorial office yesterday.

President of the Municipality of Zeta Mihailo Asanović said a few days ago that, after the cooperation with the previous carrier operating on the Podgorica-Mataguži, Podgorica-Berislavci and Podgorica-Bijelo Polje lines was terminated on January 1, the Podgorica-based company "Putevi" will take over these lines as of January 15. He also said at the time that ticket prices will be half the previous price, that transportation will be free for students and pensioners, and that monthly tickets will cost 25 euros instead of 50.

"We will pay subsidies to 'Putevi' so that our citizens are satisfied. We conducted a survey that showed that 80 percent of Zeta citizens are dissatisfied with transportation," he said.

Zečević reminded that "Putevi" operates on the Masline-Botun line, but that this is the border between two municipalities and that the Department of Transport has indicated to them that they cannot take over inter-municipal traffic.

"We asked Asanović to find common ground with the Ministry, because he refers to the fact that the demarcation between the two municipalities has not been completed... We only gave preliminary approval, that we will do it," Zečević said yesterday.

Unofficially, passenger transport services in Zeta will continue to be provided by the current carrier, but it is not known under what conditions.

"He didn't even interrupt, only inter-village driving was suspended. We offered Bulatović some variations... we'll see what happens in the coming days," Zečević said yesterday.

"Vijesti" previously sent questions regarding the transportation of passengers in Zeta and towards Podgorica to that carrier, but they did not respond.
