Dialogue is necessary for Montenegro to overcome divisions at all levels, it was concluded during a meeting of the Deputy Prime Ministers for Education, Science and Relations with Religious Communities. "During the meeting, it was assessed that relations between the state and the Church are based on mutual respect and understanding, with significant room for further improvement of dialogue and cooperation. It was noted that dialogue is necessary for Montenegro to overcome divisions at all levels, and that both the state and the Church must work persistently towards this goal, each within their respective competences," the Deputy Prime Minister's office announced.
Special attention, they said, was devoted to charity work and "strengthening empathy in society," in which "the Church certainly plays a significant role."
"Institutional mechanisms were considered that would enable joint action to provide assistance to the most vulnerable categories of the population," the statement reads.
