Several people detained after incidents during blockade, 18 people to be prosecuted for unregistered gatherings

Podgorica police detained several people after today's incident during a blockade near the roundabout in Gornja Gorica, the Police Directorate announced.

They also said that 18 people will be prosecuted for today's unregistered gatherings that blocked traffic.

"Officers of the Police Directorate - Security Department of Podgorica today took legally prescribed measures and actions within their jurisdiction, in relation to participants in unregistered gatherings who blocked roads in the territory of the Capital City and the municipality of Zeta, at the roundabout on the Nikšić - Cetinje main road in the settlement of Gornja Gorica, as well as on the main road in the town of Bistrice, and identified 18 persons who will be prosecuted in accordance with the law," the statement reads.

"Also, police officers from the Podgorica Security Department, in connection with today's event - a violation of public order during a blockade near the roundabout on the Nikšić-Cetinje main road, when physical and verbal contact occurred between several people, as well as the use of a suitable means - detained several people at the premises of the Podgorica Security Department in order to collect information and shed light on the event," the police added.

The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of the event, and further measures and actions are being taken on his orders.
