Last year, the Podgorica Housing Agency renovated almost 50 facades on residential buildings in the capital, and has 1,8 million euros available for these and other works this year.
This, among other things, stems from the responses that the city company provided to "Vijesti" yesterday.
As they stated, last year the Agency "rehabilitated a total of 140.000 square meters of facade surfaces."
"The works were carried out through two actions: 'Improving housing conditions' and the action 'For a more beautiful face of Podgorica'. During this year, work is planned on the Russian Tower M2, the Danilo Kiša Wreaths No. 5, the Kosovar Heroes Wreaths No. 6, Gavrila Dožića Passage No. 2... Work will also be carried out on the skyscrapers in Serdara Jola Piletića Street No. 7 and No. 13, Jovana Cvijića Passage No. 1, Đoka Miraševića Street No. 17 and No. 5," said the Housing Agency, which is managed by Vladimir Tomovic.
In addition to the renovation of facades, as they said, through the "Improvement of Housing Conditions" campaign, roof coverings were repaired, entrances were decorated, and hydrants were reconstructed.
They also claim that "a lot has been done to protect green areas belonging to residential buildings."
"What is particularly important to point out is that 120 percent more thermal insulation facades have been completed compared to 2024. If we were to single out a part of the city where there is the greatest interest in thermal insulation facades, it is certainly Block V. The facades of a number of extremely demanding buildings, with floors ranging from P+12 to P+16, have been renovated. This particularly applies to the skyscrapers at Trg Nikola Kovačevića No. 7, Vijence Danilo Kiša No. 3, Vijence Kosovish Junaka No. 3 and 4, Serdar Jolo Piletić No. 5 and similar," they told "Vijesti".
When it comes to the campaign "For a more beautiful face of Podgorica", the Agency, they claim, worked on "extremely large-scale facilities":
"Like the Lepa Kata building on Bratstva i Jedinstva Street, Baston on Save Kovačević Boulevard, the so-called 'G' building on the corner of Moskovska Street and Vasa Raičkovića. Also, work was done on the so-called 'Njemačka' building on the corner of Svetozara Markovića Street and Svetog Petra Cetinjskog Boulevard. Work was also done on the 'Lordovka' buildings, three buildings on Mitra Bakića Street...", the Agency said.
They believe that facade renovation should be done through the "Improvement of Housing Conditions" campaign, as well as with the use of thermal insulation materials.
“Works through the campaign 'For a more beautiful face of Podgorica' will also cover a larger number of buildings in different parts of the city this year. In the Preko Morača part of the city, an unfinished building in Ivana Vujoševića Street remains, which, due to the specific nature of the existing facade, cannot be renovated solely through the works included in that campaign. The 'Vampirice' building, the building on Tuški put, a series of buildings at the Old Airport, Zabjelo, Mila Radunovića Street, and the Krstarica building are also unfinished.”
The Housing Agency also reminded that a significant part of the facade of the Podgorica Protection and Rescue Service building was renovated last year.
"Independently of the facade works, the Agency has committed to renovating some of the sheet metal, so that there is no potential danger of water penetrating behind the facade, and these works are being carried out these days. In addition to the facades, there is also great interest in the renovation and reconstruction of roofs. During the past year, works were carried out at 16 locations," the Agency said.
