Some residents of Zeta blocked traffic on the Podgorica - Bar road today from 12:00 to 16:00, at the roundabout turning for Podgorica Airport.

The Police Department previously announced that they had been notified of a citizen protest and that traffic would be suspended from 12:00 to 16:00.

In a separate statement, in which they emphasized that today's gatherings in Zeta were not reported, the police said that they were providing alternative routes leading from Podgorica to the airport, as well as towards coastal municipalities in the direction of Bar, and that they were redirecting traffic and drivers to alternative routes.

The meeting was also attended by the President of the Municipality of Zeta, Mihailo Asanović.

They announce the continuation of the protest.

Zeta resident Bojan Terzić said that "the entire Zeta people" are against the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Botun.

"In the coming period, whatever happens - the authorities of Podgorica are responsible, the government is responsible. My tribe of Terzić has been here for about five centuries, we will not submit."

When asked whether the protest was reported, he said that it was reported verbally, and that they allegedly had such an agreement with the police.

"We are not here to run wild, we are not barbarians, but we are fighting for our Zeta," he said.

Terzić did not answer the question from "Vijesti" whether he would go to block the construction of the plant, and said that "he gives the most when it comes to the story."

"Everything I say, every citizen of Zeta thinks. Targets are drawn for me and I am pressured. They tell me they will arrest me. Feel free to come," he said.

He announced that he would continue the protests.

"Don't tell me if I'm with Milan Knežević. I'm with myself. Did Milan support us? Yes, hats off to you, master. I'll support you too when things get tough," he said.

He said that no one who goes to negotiate has legitimacy.

"Do you know what Zeta is? Zeta initiated the Balkan people. You should all be ashamed of whose seats you are sitting in. Today's thugs in the government are sitting in the seat of Saint Peter of Cetinje," he said.

He added that they will hold a meeting and make further plans.

Terzić said that "this is not just Zeta's problem" and added that "it's a shame for Farmaka, Grbavca and Kokota to be at home."

"We won't dig our own grave"

Local resident Jagoš Bećirović said that Podgorica Mayor Sasa Mujović is "the biggest culprit for us being here."

"If he had torn up the harmful contract, nothing would have happened here. They called us to his office to offer us that our people would dig for this collector. We don't want to dig our own grave. Whoever leaves, may God judge them. We are a people who have suffered for 60 years because of someone else's mistake, incinerators are moving around Europe, we ran after them. This will also harm Podgorica, and no one is talking about it," he claims.

According to information from the official website of the Airport of Montenegro, the plane to Warsaw took off at the scheduled time at 1:21 PM, while the flight to London, scheduled for 1:55 PM, was delayed by more than 20 minutes. Three more flights are planned from Podgorica Airport until 4:25 PM - to Vienna, Belgrade and Istanbul.

Before the blockade began, the arrival of a plane from Istanbul scheduled for 1:40 p.m. was canceled, as was the departure flight scheduled for 2:30 p.m., but it was not specified for what reasons.

Those gathered at the roundabout let the ambulance pass.

On the other hand, citizens had to walk to the airport due to the blockade.

Last night, at around 21:30 PM, Montenegro's airports called on passengers flying today via social media to continuously monitor the road conditions, due to possible traffic jams or road blockages leading to the airport.

Locals who oppose the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Botun have blocked several roads in the territory of Podgorica and Zeta in recent days.
