The first to swim to the Epiphany Cross in Bijelo Polje was Slađan Šćekić.
Before the swim, in which 50 people from Bijelo Polje participated, the waters of the Lim River on Sinjavac beach were blessed by Archpriest Darko Pejić.
Šćekić, who has been a participant in the Holy Cross swimming for many years, said that he was overjoyed to be lucky enough to come first this year.
"I dedicate this victory and this cross to children with developmental disabilities at the 'Tisa' Day Center, because they need God's help the most," said Šćekić.
Nikšić: Lazar Đorojević first to the Holy Cross
Fifteen-year-old Lazar Đorojević was the first to swim to the Holy Cross today during the Epiphany swim on Lake Krupac in Nikšić, reports the Radio Television Nikšić (RTNK) portal.
The traditional swim for the Holy Cross was organized by the Diocese of Budimlje-Nikšić and the Church Municipality of Nikšić.
Lazar is a first-year high school student majoring in traffic. As he said, this is his first time participating in the Epiphany Swim.
Today, several hundred Nikšić residents, ranging in age from three to 70, swam for the Holy Cross at Lake Krupac.
