Stefan Šćepanović, a resident of Danilovgrad, was the first to swim to the Epiphany Cross at the traditional swim in Danilovgrad, which was held today on the occasion of the great Christian holiday of Epiphany.
Participants swam in the Zeta River, under the city bridge in Danilovgrad.
About 50 believers participated in the swim, including several girls and young women.
After Šćepanović was the first to reach the cross, priest Zarija Vuković and deacon Radule Živaljević also swam the Zeta.
The event took place in a peaceful and dignified atmosphere, with the presence of numerous citizens who came to support the participants and celebrate the holiday.
Sava Turović (23) was the fastest in the swim for the honorable cross on the Morača River. As he said, it was a great honor for him to participate in such a ceremony, writes the RTCG portal.
In Podgorica, the traditional baptismal swimming took place on the banks of the Ribnica in Morača under the Blaža Jovanovića Bridge. A large number of citizens gathered near Skalina to watch the event. The oldest swimmer was Veselin Mugoša, born in 1950, and the youngest was a boy of 4,5 years. There were also children and girls among the swimmers.
