The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) announced that the deadline for applying for the Public Call for the Employment of Police Officers, which was announced on December 31, 2025, has been extended to February 10, 2026, in order to continue reforms and further strengthen the police service.
"Due to formal legal reasons, on January 20, 2026, a Correction to the Public Invitation for the implementation of a special procedure for the employment of police officers for the needs of the Police Administration was issued (https://www.gov.me/dokumenta/f8d7b726-f997-483b-b39b-696bb3e22f6b ), due to which the public invitation was extended for 20 days, i.e. until February 10," the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
The government department emphasized that candidates who in their original application indicated as a priority the position for which the correction is being made (Police Officer in the International Operational Cooperation Group, Department for International Operational Cooperation INTERPOL-EUROPOL-SIRENE, Sector for Combating Crime) need to submit a new application form in accordance with the correction to the public call, while they are not required to submit other documentation that they have already submitted.
"If candidates who indicated this position in the previous application form do not submit a new application form, all positions except the one that is the subject of the correction will be considered in the further selection process. Candidates who did not apply for this position are not required to submit documentation again," the statement states.
They added that the extension of the deadline also applies to those who have not yet applied to the previously announced Public Call, and they can do so until February 10, 2026.
"Other details have not been changed when correcting the public call. The following candidates up to 30 years of age can apply for the public call; as well as candidates up to 40 years of age who previously worked in the police, completed an internship, the Professional Training Program for Persons with Higher Education, or were voluntarily engaged in the Police Directorate," the statement reads.
The Ministry of Interior also said that all candidates who have at least a V, VI or VII level of educational qualification can apply for the public call, regardless of the field or faculty they graduated from.
"The selection process includes: testing of psychophysical abilities; detailed security checks; assessment of integrity through written tests and interviews; testing of knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical tests adapted to police work.
