The session of the Council of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), where the agenda includes the continuation of the procedure for electing the director of that institution for a full term, will be held on Friday, Vijesti has learned.
As previously reported by Television Vijesti, only the current acting director Dušan Drakić applied for the competition to elect the director of ASK for a full term.

His appointment requires the support of four out of five members of the Council, and some members have previously indicated that securing that majority could be problematic due to the high threshold for election prescribed by law.
Drakić has been acting since August 2024, following the dismissal of former director Jelena Perović, who is being prosecuted for abuse of office before the Podgorica High Court. The agency has been without a full-time director for almost a year and a half.
The first attempt to elect a director, in May last year, failed, even though two candidates applied for the position, as neither received the required majority of votes. The new vacancy announcement was made after months of delays, while awaiting the adoption of amendments to the Law on the Prevention of Corruption, which have not yet entered into force.
At the session scheduled for Friday, the Council should determine whether the formal requirements have been met and conduct an interview with the candidate, followed by a vote.
