Deputy Mayor of Podgorica and president of the Football Club (FK) Budućnost Boris Spalević told "Vijesti" that posters with his pictures and those of members of the club's management, along with insults and primitive messages, were pasted in Podgorica.
"I am addressing the fans and everyone who loves FK Buducnost and who wishes the Club well both when times are difficult and when they are winning, because I want them to know the truth, which is that FK Buducnost is in safe hands, in the hands of the Capital City, which this year has provided the greatest support to this city club so far. Today, through the diligent work of the entire Management, the Club is consolidated, legally, financially and in this transfer window, coaching and playing, with reinforcements that should bring back the sporting victories and results that we all so badly want. This morning, Podgorica woke up with posters of the majority of members of the FK Buducnost Board of Directors, and there are the same posters on various Facebook pages, and tomorrow we will know who is behind such intentions, and I am sure that it is not the fans who wish FK Buducnost well," said Spalević.
The first photo that Spalević submitted to "Vijesti" showed insults directed at members of the Board of Directors of FK Budućnost, as well as Spalević.
As soon as the "Vijesti" journalist received the photo, he went to the scene and saw that the posters had been torn apart, except for the one with Spalević on it.
Spalević also said that "sticking up posters with pictures of board members, along with insults and primitive messages, is not courage, it is not rebellion and it is not love for the club."
"This is cowardice, vandalism and direct damage to FK Budućnost. This is not cheering, this is sabotage of one's own club or sabotage by those who wish this club harm," Spalević told "Vijesti".
He said that the damage caused by such behavior and actions is multiple.
"The club's reputation is being damaged in front of future sponsors and partners, the transfer window is being disrupted, public trust is being destroyed and material damage is being done to the city's property. Every poster you put up is one step further from a stronger Future. Every gesture like this is one more reason for future sponsors to turn their backs on the club. Every 'vandal action' these individuals commit is financial and reputational damage to the Club. If you, the poster-makers, who are 'against the Club's management' have a position - state it publicly, by name and surname, if you have a proposal - come to the club or present it to the president or the Board of Directors. If you have criticism - argue it. But hiding at night, putting up posters on poles and walls, insulting the people who run the club and thinking that by doing so you are 'fighting against the Management', and I would add 'for your own or someone else's interests', that is the bottom," said Spalević.
He also said that FK Budućnost and the club's management, which he heads, will continue with the steps that lead it on the right path, transparently and in a sporting manner.
"These attempts to destabilize the Club and personally name-calling only speak about those who do it, and the real fans and the public are the ones who see it clearly and know who is who. FK Budućnost is bigger than division, insults and noise, and the message from the Management is clear to everyone who loves the club, together we can do more. The Club and this Management remain open to support, dialogue and a joint fight for a better FK Budućnost," said Spalević.
