The Prosecutor's Office dismissed the charges against Radovanović, the union demands responsibility and the dismissal of director Bojana Đačić

The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Pljevlja has dismissed the criminal complaint filed by the director of the Public Institution "Stevan Samardžić" Bojana Đačić against employee Danko Radovanović, the Trade Union of the institution's employees announced.

As stated, in the decision of the prosecutor's office Kt. No. 239/25 of January 13, 2026, it was determined that Radovanović's actions did not contain elements of the criminal offense of violation of the right to manage or abuse of official position, nor of any other criminal offense prosecuted ex officio.

The union recalls that Director Đačić previously publicly claimed that 1.828 books had disappeared from the Children's Department of the library, and that she had named Radovanović as responsible for this in almost all relevant media. The prosecutor's decision, they state, confirms that there is no criminal liability for the employee who was exposed to public targeting.

The statement emphasizes that filing criminal charges should not be a means of personal settling of scores or a substitute for lawful and responsible management of the institution, but solely a mechanism for protecting the public interest when there are justified reasons for doing so.

The union announced that Danko Radovanović will file a private lawsuit against director Bojana Đačić to protect her reputation, honor and dignity, due to the public and, as he claims, unfounded connection with criminal offenses for which the prosecution determined that there were no elements of responsibility.

It is also pointed out that the situation in the Public Institution "Stevan Samardžić" National Library is seriously disturbed, stating that irregularities and illegalities have been continuously identified in the work of the director, that her work report for the previous year was not adopted, and that at one point the Work Program did not receive the required majority in the Council of the institution.

The union particularly issues disciplinary proceedings and the imposition of disciplinary measures on employees, which, in their opinion, represent illegal and inappropriate sanctions, which, they state, is also confirmed in court proceedings.

Due to all of the above, the Trade Union of Employees called on the councilors, competent in the Municipality, the Mayor of the Municipality and other institutions to urgently react within their jurisdiction, assessing that the only solution to protect the institution, employees and public interest is the immediate dismissal of the Director of the Public Institution "Stevan Samardžić" Bojana Đačić.
