Although the company "Čelebić" was obliged to remove the controversial spotlight at the "DG Arena", located on the Mareza Canal in Donja Gorica, Podgorica, by today, there is a possibility that the work will be delayed due to the complexity of the project and weather conditions.
This follows from the response that the company provided to "Vijesti" yesterday.
According to them, the agreement on dismantling the floodlights at the "DG Arena" was reached at the beginning of the week.
"We have accepted the obligation to dismantle the reflector within the agreed deadline. However, given the complexity of the project itself, as well as the current weather conditions, there is a possibility that the completion of the work will take several days longer than planned," said the company "Čelebić".
"Vijesti" was recently told by the relevant service of the Capital City that the investor can remove the disputed spotlight himself by Friday, or today. The editorial office previously received unofficial confirmation from several sources that this agreement was reached on Tuesday evening.
The "Čelebić" company told the editorial staff that they will preserve the reflector after dismantling it.
"At this point, it is not yet known whether and how he will be reinstated, given the strict technical regulations and procedures of UEFA (European Football Association), which must be followed," they said.
On January 11, the Capital City Inspection Department issued a decision ordering the removal of the floodlights and fence of the "DG Arena" stadium, which were built on the Mareza Canal.
The demolition of the disputed parts of the stadium was ordered to enable the flow of water, but also to prevent flooding of numerous Podgorica settlements.
On Monday, in the early morning hours, the demolition of part of the concrete fence began, as it is located above the Mareza Canal.
"Vijesti" recently reported that the company "Čelebić" claims that the stadium in Donja Gorica was built "in accordance with valid permits."
They also said that they were prepared to relocate the canal at their own expense, due to the filling of which, two days ago, the dismantling of the floodlights and part of the sports facility was scheduled.
Deputy Mayor Boris Spalevic announced that he would file criminal charges against “those who allowed illegal construction in the Mareza Canal.”
He said that he would act equally on all illegal structures in the Maresh Canal, and that he would not allow legalization.
"Today we have a meeting in the capital regarding the topic where the complete documentation is being reviewed, precisely to determine who made mistakes and issued such permits," Spalević said earlier.
