Montenegro remains firmly and long-term committed to strengthening collective security and fulfilling obligations within the Alliance, said the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro (AVCG), Miodrag Vuksanović, at the NATO Military Committee meeting in Brussels.
The Ministry of Defense announced that Vuksanović said that Montenegro remains a reliable, responsible and credible ally.
"In a time of complex and unpredictable security challenges, NATO's unity, deterrence readiness, and ability to adapt rapidly remain key pillars of our common security," said Vuksanović.
He added that the Armed Forces of Montenegro will continue to contribute to the collective defense of the Alliance, in accordance with its capacities.
It is stated that the NATO Military Committee meeting, which was attended by the Chiefs of General Staff of the member states, discussed key issues related to the current security environment, with a particular focus on continuing strong support for Ukraine, strengthening deterrence and defense on the Alliance's eastern flank, as well as security challenges in the broader strategic environment.
It is emphasized that NATO activities to provide security assistance and training to Ukraine (NSATU) were also considered, as well as further improving the military capabilities of member states in accordance with new defense plans.
"Particular attention is paid to accelerating NATO's transformation, developing new capabilities, applying modern technologies, as well as strengthening interoperability and the readiness of forces to respond to contemporary and future threats," the statement said.3
It is added that Vuksanović had several bilateral meetings with colleagues from allied countries on the sidelines of the Military Committee meeting, during which they exchanged opinions on current security challenges in Europe and beyond, as well as models for further improving military cooperation.
