Bečić: We are moving towards solving the biggest problem
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić congratulated the residents of Zeta and their elected representatives on the Day of the Municipality.
He said that Zeta, although the youngest Montenegrin municipality, has deep historical roots and a special place in the state-building heritage of Montenegro.
"Zeta is a region of hardworking and responsible people, fertile land and a strong agricultural tradition, in which work, homemaking and hospitality are nurtured as fundamental values of community and development and are passed down from generation to generation. The natural resources of lakes and rivers, as well as the strategic position between the coast and the central part of Montenegro, represent significant potential for the sustainable and balanced development of Zeta, with the obligation to preserve and enhance its natural values," Bečić announced.
"The Government of Montenegro welcomes this Municipal Day with the recently adopted Decision on Determining Public Interest for the Implementation of the Project for the Rehabilitation of the Red Mud Basin and Solid Waste Landfill, as a prerequisite for the start of a project worth around 40 million euros, which is moving towards solving the biggest problem and source of many problems of Zeta and its citizens. With another congratulations, I wish the citizens of Zeta further development, stability and progress, as well as personal and family happiness," the Deputy Prime Minister wrote.

The Zeta board of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) assessed that the municipality is going through a "troubling period in its history," but said they are confident that, "as before, it will manage to break free from all the plagues that have befallen it, because it knows where and to whom it belongs and to which paths of success it should return."
"Dear citizens of Zeta, with great pride and special pleasure, today we congratulate you on the Day of the Municipality, the date of which was established when all other important steps forward for Zeta were made, when its development reached the greatest proportions in recent history. That was a period when Zeta was governed by serious people and when you could proudly say where you came from, when you were not the subject of public ridicule. That was a time of sincere commitment to the welfare of Zeta, when party issues and coalition problems were not resolved over your backs, through deception and fraud. That freedom-loving date, when, respecting coexistence, without a grain of gunpowder, with a pen and the power of authority, we returned Zeta to where it has always belonged - under the auspices of the free state of Montenegro, to which Zeta statehood and dynasties paved a thousand-year tradition," the statement reads.
"While everyone is racing to congratulate you on your holiday today and point out the benefits of independence, as if they have anything to do with it, this is an opportunity to emphasize once again that all those parties were against everything that firmly and inextricably ties Zeta to Montenegro and vice versa. Today, we celebrate this holiday in the independent municipality of Zeta with a budget of almost 15 million euros and the greatest development potential in the country, solely due to the merit and achievement of people who had a vision and a clear desire in a certain period, no matter how hard someone tries to present it differently. Whoever attends the ceremonial session and has the opportunity to watch the film about the development of Zeta will see over 90% of the scenes related to capital projects implemented by 2022. Kindergartens, schools, boulevards... On the other hand, they will see a few shots of golden bus stops, miraculous tractors worth nearly 200.000 euros and children's playgrounds that cost as much as smaller football stadiums," said the DPS board in Brother-in-law.

Located in an extremely favorable geographical area, along the shores of the largest lake in the region and at the crossroads of the north and south of the country, Zeta has numerous natural and development advantages. The fertile plain and the hardworking people of this region have created conditions for a stable and dignified life for generations, relying on work, perseverance and togetherness," the congratulatory message emphasizes.

"On this day, February 8, 1879, after the Berlin Congress, the largest part of today's Zeta became part of the Montenegrin state. "On behalf of the SNP of Montenegro, and on my own behalf, I send sincere congratulations to the citizens of Zeta on the occasion of the Municipal Day," Joković pointed out in the congratulatory message.
He added that Zeta is a place with a rich tradition, a strong identity and people who have always known how to preserve their values, but also to look forward.
