President of the Parliament of Montenegro and leader of the New Serbian Democracy Andrija Mandić congratulated the leadership of the municipality and all citizens of Zeta on the Day of the Municipality of Zeta.
"On the fertile Zeta plain, which has nourished our people for centuries, pages of history were written - not only of Zeta, but also of the foundations of our statehood. Almost a thousand years ago, Byzantine records mention its name, and since then until today, Zeta has remained a steadfast symbol of identity, duration and pride," Mandić emphasized in his congratulatory message.
He added that "this area was one of the pillars of power of the Nemanjić state, and that Stefan Nemanja was born in nearby Ribnica, the ruler who began a great epoch and ignited the idea of freedom, turning Zeta into one of the key origins of medieval state and spiritual power."
"The Zeta Crnojević dynasty ruled not only Zeta, but also the surrounding areas from their capital city - Žabljak Crnojević, for a long time, defining once again the importance of this region. Having learned from the great history of this region, I believe that we are facing a time of greater harmony and understanding, in which all challenges are overcome through dialogue, because only in this way can we build a secure and successful future. Peace, stability and progress must be the goals we strive for together and they have no alternative," said Mandić.
