Minister of Internal Affairs Danilo Šaranović met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Turkey to Montenegro, Ayda Unlu.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation in the field of internal affairs and security, emphasizing that bilateral relations will be further strengthened in the coming period through the improvement of operational cooperation, exchange of information and the implementation of joint initiatives.
Šaranović stressed the importance of partnership relations with Turkey, especially in the areas of protection and rescue, as well as in the fight against all forms of crime, including organized and transnational crime.
Šaranović, it was announced, particularly emphasized the focus on strengthening material and technical capacities and improving professional standards in the security system.
"Our commitment to modernizing and strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is not only an investment in equipment and technology, but also in professionalism and the willingness to respond responsibly and efficiently to all security challenges. Cooperation with partners like the Republic of Turkey allows us to turn these ambitions into concrete results," said Šaranović.
Unlu expressed Turkey's readiness to continue and further improve cooperation with the Ministry of Interior.
"The Republic of Turkey strongly supports all the steps that Montenegro is taking on its European path. We are ready to further strengthen the partnership between our countries through concrete forms of cooperation, because we are connected not only by a strategic partnership, but also by a great friendship that inspires common visions for a stable and prosperous future," said Unlu.
The Ministry of Interior's statement also states that the interlocutors agreed that Montenegro and Turkey share a common interest in responding to contemporary security challenges through strong institutional cooperation, and that they will continue to work on strengthening concrete forms of cooperation in the areas of security, protection and rescue.
