At today's meeting of representatives of the judiciary and executive authorities, it was agreed to continue systemic action against organized crime, high-level corruption and money laundering, the cabinet of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić announced.
The first concrete move, they said, will be the formation of a Working Team that will draft instructions for controlling the implementation of surveillance measures.
"During the constructive discussion, which was held at the initiative of the Prime Minister, it was concluded that the court rulings against the highest public officials and heads of organized crime groups have made great strides in the fight against organized crime, but that an even more efficient institutional response requires more intensive cooperation between the competent authorities," the statement reads.
The meeting was informed, the Prime Minister's Office added, that a quick response from the European Commission is expected to the amendments to the legal solutions, sent in June last year, which will "further strengthen the normative framework for the application of surveillance measures and their implementation in practice."
The meeting at the Government building was attended by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, President of the Supreme Court Valentina Pavličić, Minister of Justice Bojan Božović, Minister of Internal Affairs Danilo Šaranović, and Director of the Police Administration Lazar Šćepanović.
