If the councilors at the upcoming session of the local parliament, scheduled for today, give the green light to the proposal of the "Decision on determining the price of utility services for individual utility consumption of DOO Komunalno Tivat", prepared by the Board of Directors of the municipal company of the same name, the prices of utility services in Tivat will increase significantly compared to the current price list that has been in effect since March 2017.
The utility company explains the need to adopt a new price list by the necessity of harmonizing it with the Decree on Amendments to the Decree on Detailed Elements and Methodology for Determining the Prices of Utility Services, adopted last year, and with the significantly increased operating costs in the field of providing utility services over the past almost nine years.
According to the new Price List, the residents of Tivat will pay for the collection of mixed municipal waste at a price that is 31,32 percent higher than the previous price (including VAT) because the collection of waste, which is calculated per square meter of residential or business space, will be increased from the current 0,083 euros to 0,109 euros per month. This price applies to users of the utility company's services from the category of natural persons, while for other commercial and public facilities, depending on their purpose, a so-called corrective factor is also provided, by which the basic price of 0.109 euros per square meter is multiplied by a coefficient ranging from 1,8 to 10.
For users who pay for waste collection based on volume, i.e. use containers and bins for waste collection, the price will increase by 17 to 26 percent. Thus, the removal of a container with a capacity of 1,1 cubic meters will cost 32 euros including VAT in the future instead of the current 27,41 euros, a five-cubic-meter bin will cost 144 euros instead of the current 120 euros, and a seven-cubic-meter bin will cost 189 euros instead of the current 150 euros.
The price of grave maintenance services in public cemeteries will increase by as much as 58,59% and will in the future amount to 2.03 euros instead of the current 1,28 euros per month. The prices of using the chapel and other services related to the funeral of the deceased will also increase by 25 percent, while the price of the service of equipping and placing in a coffin drowned people and people killed in accidents will increase by as much as 78,57 percent and will amount to 100 instead of the current 56 euros including VAT.
The prices for maintaining public markets per point of sale, depending on the purpose of the specific point of sale, increase in the range of 12,17 to 18.18%.
