The start of work on the Sports and Recreational Park with a jogging track in Nikšić was officially marked today with the laying of the cornerstone.
The Ministry of Public Works announced that this marked a significant step forward in improving sports and recreational infrastructure in the city.
The cornerstone was laid by the Minister of Public Works Majda Adžović, the Mayor of the Municipality Marko Kovačević and the President of the Municipal Assembly Milica Lalatović Žižić, marking the beginning of the implementation of the project, which will cover approximately 44.770 square meters and include "numerous facilities intended for athletes and recreational users of all generations."
Minister Adžović also toured the works on the Fire Station, a new facility that will be intended for accommodation, education and training of the Protection and Rescue Service, which "further strengthens the capacities of the security system in the city."
She also visited the works on the Hadži-Ismail Mosque, a cultural property in the very city center that "represents a unique and preserved example of Islamic sacral architecture" in Nikšić, the statement added.
"The Ministry of Public Works, in cooperation with the Municipality of Nikšić, continues to be committed to implementing infrastructure projects aimed at improving the quality of life and creating better conditions for citizens," the ministry said.
