The non-governmental association "Women of Bar with a Big Heart", which runs a soup kitchen in the city, has appealed for help for fellow citizen Milan Joličić Tapi, who had his leg amputated due to severe diabetes and needs a prosthesis worth 50.000 euros.
As stated by the association, there are few people from Bar who do not know Tapi, and even fewer who do not know how much the Jolicic family gave to Bar.
They noted that Milan comes from a family of humanists and people who have been there for others their entire lives, and that his father, Ljubo Joličić, was the founder and long-time president of the "Luka Bar" Society of Voluntary Blood Donors and a man who knew that the suffering of others should not go unnoticed.
"Milan grew up in that school of life – where one does not ask 'why me?', but - 'who needs help?'. Unfortunately, today Milan is the one who needs help, because severe diabetes has led to complications and amputation of his leg. From a man who worked, created and lived actively, Milan has come to a situation where he can no longer function normally, nor work as he would like and could. The feeling of helplessness and uselessness is hard for him – and each of us knows how painful a burden that is," the appeal "Žena Bara" reads.
The only realistic chance for Milan to get back on his feet, they stated, literally and in terms of life, is to purchase a robotic prosthesis, which can enable him to be independent, move, return to work and dignity, and the Health Fund, unfortunately, does not provide such a prosthesis for free.
The price of the prosthesis is 50.000 euros, which is why "Women of Bar" turned to all good people, businessmen, institutions, the diaspora, and anyone who can help - even symbolically.
"Sometimes a little help from many people is enough to make a big miracle happen. Today it's Milan who needs a leg, and tomorrow it could be any of us. Let's help Milan live the life he deserves again. Let's help him not look at the wall, but at the road. Let's help him return to people, to work, to everyday life. Let's do it as a sign of gratitude to the family that has given itself to Bar for decades - without calculation, without pay or praise," said the representatives of the association.
If there was ever a time for Bar to show his heart, they emphasized, it's now.

Representatives of that NGO thanked everyone in advance for their help and added that donations from the diaspora can also be made through the "Gofundme" platform, on which the account for assistance was set up by Azra Perazic Džaferovic.
