Organized by the Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Montenegro, a ceremony was held at the premises of the NGO "Horizonti" to distribute humanitarian aid packages to the most vulnerable categories of the population.

As announced, 7.600 packages with basic necessities were distributed, intended for around 38.000 beneficiaries throughout Montenegro.

The Head of the Islamic Community in Montenegro, Rifat Fejzić, said that the action is a continuation of the successful cooperation between the Islamic Community and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

"We are sure that this is just a continuation of that cooperation. It is an exceptional honor for us to have such relations with Saudi Arabia for several reasons. One of them is that Saudi Arabia is the spiritual center of all Muslims in the world, and another is that it is one of the world's largest economies. On behalf of the Islamic Community, on behalf of the Muslims of Montenegro, and on my own behalf, I thank the Ambassador and the 'King Salman' Humanitarian Fund for this valuable donation," said Fejzić.

The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Tirana, Faisal Gazi Hifzi, said that with this action they want to help the Muslims of Montenegro and make things easier for them, at least in this way.

"We will distribute 7.600 packages of basic food supplies to around 38.000 beneficiaries. This form of assistance is part of our basic humanitarian principles that are also promoted by our lofty faith. We are pleased to be part of this project," said Hifzi.

He added that the action is not just material aid, but a message of love from Saudi Arabia towards Muslims in Montenegro, but also around the world.

Minister of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography Damir Gutić assessed that the event carries deep messages of solidarity and mutual support.

"The ambassador pointed out to us their plans for the future and we hope that this is just the beginning of our cooperation. I hope that this is one of the initial steps in establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries. Cooperation with Saudi Arabia is of exceptional importance for Montenegro," said Gutić.
