Democrats MP Anđela Vojinović said that the most important thing is that the residents of the Podgorica settlement of Tološi receive accessible primary healthcare, and said that the party's parliamentary group will provide full support for the implementation of the project.
Two days ago, she announced that she had sent an initiative to the Minister of Health, Vojislav Šimun, to re-establish a health center in that settlement. The Capital City Health Center stated in a statement this morning that they had already begun obtaining all the necessary permits and implementing the necessary legal procedures and activities to begin work on the adaptation of the health facility in Tološi last year, reminding us that they had informed the public a week ago that preparatory work for the adaptation of the facility had begun.
"I am pleased to note that the initiative to re-establish the Health Center in Tološi has been accepted and that funds have been provided for this purpose. I would like to remind you that I launched the initiative after visiting Tološi and talking to citizens, during which I learned that there used to be a Health Center in this settlement, but that it has since ceased operations, which is why I considered it important to point out such things and, when realistic conditions exist, correct past mistakes. Today's decision shows that this approach was well-founded and responsible," said MP Vojinović.
He says that this is "first and foremost a victory" for the residents of Tološ, who "justifiably pointed out the need for more accessible primary health care in their settlement."
"The fact that the competent institutions have recognized its importance and provided financial prerequisites for its implementation confirms that this is a real need, not a political issue. I believe that no initiative that comes from the needs of citizens can be superfluous, but can only contribute to accelerating and strengthening the process," the statement reads.
