A rich cultural and entertainment program organized by the NGO "Hug Martin and Andrija with Hearts" in support of children with cancer with the message "When hearts come together, the voice becomes support", was held tonight at the Cultural Center in Bijelo Polje, marking February 15th - International Day of Children with Malignant Diseases.
All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the treatment of eight children who are being treated at the Clinical Center of Montenegro, for eight families who are fighting the hardest battle of their lives.
The program was attended by children from the "Dušo Basekić" preschool educational institution, the "Tekstilac" cultural and artistic community, a singer from Podgorica, Rajo Simonović, a participant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Asja Džogović, and animators, and after the humanitarian evening, balloons were traditionally released from the city square.
Representative and one of the founders of the association "Hug Martin and Andrija with our hearts" Ivana Šćekić reminded that this day is not just another date on the calendar, but a day when the world must look into the eyes of children who learned too early what it means to fight.
"Today we are not just talking about the disease, we are talking about a society that must be louder, about a system that must be faster, about solidarity that does not last one day. Children who are struggling do not need our pity, but our strength, our presence and concrete help, and that is why tonight we invite you to embrace with your heart, to support with your actions, to sing and dance and to be part of the change, not only today but every time it is necessary to stand by a child who is struggling," said Šćekić, adding that when one child leads a battle - the entire society is taking a test.
Co-founder of the association "Hug Martin and Andrija with your heart", Dijana Novaković, thanked the people of Bijelopolje for showing humanity towards children who need help the most for the seventh time.
