The Vice President of the Municipality of Nikšić, Zoran Tomić, and the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Montenegro, Svetlana Perović, signed a memorandum of cooperation, which envisages joint activities in the implementation of programs and projects aimed at the development and improvement of spatial values. Special emphasis is placed on the protection and promotion of natural and architectural heritage, as well as cooperation in the field of student internships, the Municipality of Nikšić announced.
Tomić, as stated in the statement, said that he is very pleased that the Municipality of Nikšić, as a responsible local government, is cooperating with an institution such as the Faculty of Architecture, contributing to the successful implementation of numerous projects.
"I believe that we will work together on numerous projects of importance to all citizens, especially considering that Nikšić is the European Capital of Culture and that you will provide significant support in this segment. We are one of the few local governments that establishes this type of cooperation and I hope that it will be successful and that you will help Nikšić continue on the path of development," he said.
Perović expressed her belief that the memorandum of cooperation will bring multiple benefits.
"Our primary focus is space, and it is in this direction that numerous opportunities for joint work are opening up — through various projects, workshops, and student internships," she said.
The signing of the memorandum was also attended by the Vice President of the Municipality of Nikšić Vidak Krtolica, the Director of the Design and Planning Agency Ana Vukotić, the Chief City Architect Mladen Vujović, and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Vladimir Bojković.
