With the construction of a gymnasium, students of the "Lovćen Partisan Detachment" Elementary School (OS) will, after several decades, receive an adequate space for practicing sports, which is in line with the most modern standards in this field, announced the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović.
The Ministry of Public Works announced today that the foundation stone for the expansion of the physical education hall and the landscaping of the schoolyard of the "Lovćen Partisan Detachment" Primary School was officially laid in the Royal Capital of Cetinje, which, as stated in the announcement, marks the beginning of the implementation of a significant project in the field of educational infrastructure.
"The construction of a modern and functional gymnasium, fully adapted to the needs of students and persons with disabilities, is planned, as well as the renovation of the school yard, which will improve the conditions for teaching, sports activities and the safe stay of children," the statement states.
The Ministry of Public Works added that the ceremony was attended by Majda Adžović, Minister of Public Works, Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, and Nikola Đurašković, Mayor of the Royal Capital of Cetinje.
The statement reads that Adžović "expressed her satisfaction that the implementation of the project of reconstruction and extension of the physical education hall and landscaping of the schoolyard of the Primary School 'Lovćen Partisan Detachment' has begun in the Royal Capital of Cetinje, which represents an important step in improving educational infrastructure."
"The new hall will be built in the immediate vicinity of the existing school building and designed as a modern, functional and safe space for conducting physical education classes and sports activities. Bearing in mind that the school has not had an adequate gym until now, the implementation of this project creates conditions for better quality work, but also for full inclusion, because the building will be adapted for people with reduced mobility and people with disabilities," Adžović pointed out.
The Ministry of Public Works said that Jakšić Stojanović reminded that this school was reconstructed last year as part of an energy efficiency project.
"The start of work on the construction of a gymnasium worth a total of around three million euros will fully round off this story, to the satisfaction of children, parents, teachers, local self-government and relevant ministries, and I am sure that all the people of Cetinje are rejoicing with us today. With the construction of the gymnasium, the students of this school will, after several decades, receive an adequate space for practicing sports, which is in line with the most modern standards in this field," said Jakšić Stojanović.
The Ministry of Public Works also said that as part of their visit to the Royal Capital, Adžović and Jakšić Stojanović also toured the works at the football stadium in Cetinje.
"This project is in the final phase of implementation, and after overcoming numerous technical and procedural challenges, the completion of the works is expected in the near future. The ministers also held a working meeting with the Mayor of Cetinje, at which they discussed the implementation of current projects and plans for the coming period, with a joint assessment that the continuation of strong cooperation between the Government of Montenegro and the Royal Capital of Cetinje will contribute to further infrastructural development and improvement of the quality of life of the citizens of Cetinje," the statement reads.
