The Basic Court in Podgorica has for the third time annulled the decision of the Radio and Television Council of Montenegro (RTCG) to appoint Boris Raonić as the general director of that media outlet in the last competition in 2024.
The decision was made following a lawsuit filed by one of the candidates in the last competition, Časlav Vujotić, who informed the media about it today.
The judgment states that the decision by which Boris Raonić was elected and appointed as the General Director of RTCG on 15 July 2024, following a public competition, is annulled as unlawful, and that the court orders a new decision on the selection for that position from the candidates who applied and met the requirements of the aforementioned public competition, within 8 days of the judgment becoming final.
"The appointment of Boris Raonić as the General Director of RTCG in August 2024 is illegal, the Basic Court in Podgorica ruled on Friday following a lawsuit by Časlav Vujotić. Another judge, Nikola Bošković, thus, for now in vain, annulled the decision of the Public Service Council, which increased the score regarding illegal appointments regarding all appointments from 2021 to date: 8 Basic Court rulings + 4 higher + 1 Supreme = 13 currently in vain," Vujotić stated in a press release.

The Podgorica Basic Court previously annulled that appointment in two cases - following a lawsuit filed by candidates Andrijana Kadija and Žarko Božović in July last year, and then following a lawsuit filed by Slaven Knezović in October 2025.
RTCG appealed these rulings to the Higher Court.
Raonic promised in July last year that if the verdict becomes final, his term as head of the Public Media Service would end.
